I have only been here for about 3 months, and it's been during Covid-19 quarantine, but I love it here so far. Trash dumpster is nearby, my own parking spot, and a very spacious 1 bedroom apartment. I was leery about downsizing, but I do not feel cramped here at all. I really do like it here, except that I can smell the neighbors smoking.
A lot of the reviews here about The Lodge are old (3+ years) and do not reflect the experience one might have today. I moved to The Lodge of Overland Park nearly a year ago and it has been a good experience. The staff in the leasing office are always nice and make you feel a part of the community. They have annual parties at the pool(s) here - and the pool is great. Most importantly, they listen to their residents. For example, upon moving in, the bottom stair leading up to the upper part of my building was in poor shape and within a month or so of telling them of the issue, the stair was replaced entirely, and then replaced again a bit later to match the original design. I suppose my biggest issue so far about living hear is that since The Lodge has been around for a several decades, it has has become a big complex with many buildings; so finding your way to each building is difficult. When I have company over I try my best to give them thorough directions to find my building, but most have had a difficult time and called this complex "a maze." I have had some issues with electricity and minor things that needed to be fixed upon moving into the updated floor plan, but I don't plan on moving away anytime soon. I highly recommend talking with the staff and getting a tour of the complex - I'm happy with my move here!
